My finger pickup I typically am 2 settings off from the suggested setting to meet my planting goal of 29,000. I too would think you got the 16 hole settings instead of the 24 hole settings....... Plant on a gravel drive, count the number of seeds you see in a foot or 2, do the math for your row spacing, & use actual counts to set the planter. The manual is just a rough guide. The thick plants will want to lodge more easily; 24D, wind, heavy N, or bugs will get the corn to fall over more easily. On the other hand you want heavy N and good weather with good rain so each plant will make a good ear - lot of potential there. Could be top yield, or a miserable time harvesting..... Depends on the year. Good luck. --->Paul
