These were and are excellent tractors. There was a whole family of them from 10 hp to 16 hp; the only real difference being the engine. The unique feature of this tractor series is a VariDrive system that allows variable speed using a belt and sliding sliding sheaves like a combine. The earlier models use a manual PTO clutch and the later ones use an electrical PTO slutch like on an automotive air conditioner. There was an optional electric lift and a fairly rare optional hydraulic lift. The engines were all Kohler single-cylinder and the model number indicates the hp. I have had a 210 for four years and had very little trouble with it. I have a manual if you need any information from that. There were two decks available for these tractors from JD. There was a 38 inch and a 48 roughly. The smaller deck was good if you have a narrow walk gate or shed door to get through. The decks are prone to rust if left outside, and belts will wear out. Blades and spindles need replaced from time to time. Good luck!
