There is no 'good' paint code for the white that Bolens used on the Tube Frames, or the Large Frames for that matter.
Bolens used paint from what ever supplier that gave them the lowest bid, and as far as we can tell, Bolens never specified a particular code. They just took an 'off the shelf' white that was 'close'.
That means that the paint varied from year to year, and sometimes even in the middle of the year.
I have 2 1971 1256s that show this perfectly. They are SN#s 108209 and 108283.
Both have the original paint, and if you park them side by side, you can see that the earlier one has a 'grayish' cast to the white, and the later one is closer to an ivory white.
In general pretty much any Ivory or 'off' White should be good enough for the "Bolens White".
For the green on the HT23 series, the 'serious' Bolens guys have found that Rustolem's Dark Hunter Green is as close as you can get.
