In pic you posted the orig handle is laying against blade,Thin rod from squeeze grip on handle went to a bellcrank mounted on angle bracket by handle mounting/pivot bolt,from bellcrank another thin rod ran to latch plunger to hold blade in position after changeing angle,also many of the pre C/early series C tractors used a chain rather than a bar to connect blade to lift handle arm(I have both styles),the chain/bar usually connected to center/intermost hole on rock shaft arm closet to lift handle
The usual method to install blade on tractor is remove pivot bolt for handle,remove or lay handle on ground,drive tractor over blade frame,slip cross shaft on A frame into quick attach on axle & lock,connect arm/chain to lift handle arm,reinstall arm for angle adj on blade.
