it is simply sales pitch and thats what deere puts in there units currently in some models just like all the other companies. i also have the engine options but all it does in my experience is confuse people or make for more engine stories. you keep any of them service on regular basis etc and you really won't know much difference other than in the sound of the engines. what size unit you looking at and wher you at gladly price you out new unit. i start at 2000 and top line units are 9400 tops with the kawasaki if that make you feel better. to me its not worth the extra good luck
