With disregarding what is the correct manifold for a specific year, the following are my preferance for 'good running' manifold/vaporizor set-up. These are just the 'F' Manifolds, and I assume you are running on gas only.
#1 Holley 234
#2 Holley 280
#3 Kingston L-D
#4 Kingston M-D
#5 Holley 295

With the 234 and 280 these are easier to modify to run on gas only, as you can run a short internal tube instead of the coil. The Kingston L-D is great as-is on gas, but has I find it to have poor idle characteristics. The Kingston M-D runs very well, but if the tractor is run hard or worked, it can get too hot for gas. The 295 is very finicy to keep the plates sealed, expect to dismantle and clean plates very often, and it runs very poorly on gas, as it gets too hot.
Beating all of these are the '2 screw' Zenith carb and manifold of the model N. With no modification this runs excellent on gas, with superb power and idle. Hope this helps.
-Steve
