These do steer hard when the tractor is dead. There is a valve inside of the power steering cylinder that was siezed on my power major when I got it. I had to disassemble the power steering cylinder, free it up, and install new seals and o rings that I got from my local hydraulic rebuild shop. I think about the only way to take the pressure off on a dead tractor would be to lossen the hoses on the cylinder and let the oil out. But be sure to refill the system before you start it. Also you will not beable to steer it unless it is rolling. Dandy Dave!
