The Fordson F's which had the "ladder-style" radiator sides were those that were the very first tractors to roll off the assembly line in 1917-18. The F went on the market here in the states beginning in July 1918, and the radiator-side design changed in early 1919, if memory serves.
You can buy repro cast-iron ladder sides from The Fordson House. ($225 per side, last I knew.) I've even seen cast-aluminum ones on eBay before (after all, once they're painted, who's gonna know?).
Everybody gets fixated on the radiator sides of the early tractors, and often forget about the early-style radiator topper, air-washer plugs, wheel-hub covers, rear-wheel bushings, drawbar, etc. Anybody who's gonna make an "early" Fordson F should study up on the details.
