All, I'm looking at a '70 3000D that a friend has. Been sitting a while, originally used in turkey barn before he got a newer green tractor with loader and 4x4. The goods: front tires are good, rears not matched but in very usable shape, 8 speed trans with live PTO per the build code. Engine was rebuilt after current owner got the unit and not a lot of hours since. Tach shows 4500 hours but not working due to 12v alternator conversion. Started up with relative ease with a boost because of a bad battery. Ran out well and pulled off in 8th gear with no issue. The BAD: all 4 tie rods are shot with a good deal of slop, Needs battery, crude horiz. exhaust setup, half @$$ 12v alternator conversion, lower link pins worn, brakes stop tractor but need adjustment, all fluids need servicing and the biggie, the 3ph control lever is not turning the shaft and operating the hydraulics. I tried moving the nut with a wrench but it turned and not the shaft. Need opinions on value in present condition and probable causes/cost to fix the hydro issue. The rest I can handle no sweat, did the same stuff on my 8N in the past. Thanks in advance!

The General GG was made by the Cleveland Tractor Company (Cletrac) of Cleveland, Ohio. Originally the company was called the Cleveland Motor Plow Company which began in 1912, then the Cleveland Tractor Company (1917) and finally Cletrac.
