If this is a dedicated puller and your 172 is sleeved, you can pull the sleeves over bore it and install a sleeve that will result in a 4.160 bore. (.030 over 192). Use a sealed power L2461F forged piston for the 192. Use the 172 head as the 192 isn't any better in stock form. Mill the head for 64cc chambers, do some bowl work, I left the ports alone, just a little clean up , installed 1.880/1.60 .100 long SBC valves and springs good for .500 lift. I did fill the block with HardBloc and run a restrictor washer in the thermostat housing. I have built two this way and they don't overheat. If it has 7/16 studs, use SBC studs (the long ones in the set) , a felpro gasket and torque them to 87 lbs. with the right intake and carb it can make 70+ hp.
