Neighbor gave me a pile of tractor/implement brochures he found in his uncle"s house, including a set of the new 1000 series Ford brochures from 1965. Inside the 3000 brochure was a handwritten quote from the local dealer:
4000 diesel - $4733 4000 gas - $4185 3000 gas - $3524
Each tractor had a $55 and $151 option (not sure what option) plus $250 freight included in the price.
He didn"t end up buying a Ford back then but later traded in his MF"s for a new Ford 6600 and years later a new 3910-II.
I thought we had paid $3500 for our 3000 gas SOS in 1967 with a 2-bottom 101 plow, but that might have included a Super C as a trade-in.
