I've been reading posts about the Holley carb and how they run lean sometimes, needing to pull out the choke to keep the tractor running. I have the reverse problem. Mine runs rich and there is never a need to pull out the choke (doing so can foul the plugs and keep it from starting). I get smoke at idle allot of the time, rich running. I had the Holley rebuilt at a carb shop a couple of years ago, may attempt it one more time myself. I am hoping Hobo and others will chime in and encourage me. So the problem may be the accelerator pump check ball sticking?
