Tractor is a 65 3500 SOS unit. It sat for better than 10 years with a bad motor - just got done rebuilding the motor and now dealing with all the other issues.
About half the gears on the trans don't seem to be working right. R2 for sure and some of the forward gears the motor loads down some (not stalling, just not freewheeling) and the tractor moves slowly. I can't tell for sure which forward gears as it's hard to distinguish between a low gear and the creeping behavior I'm seeing.
Any thoughts? My guess is it's a sticking valve or something but I don't want to tear things apart randomly trying to find it.
The fluid has been changed and the old fluid looked fine - no chips or water. The filter screen was cleaned and main filter changed. When I had the top cover off I saw no rust or evidence of damage inside. The gear that work (R1 and 6/7 that I can tell for sure) the shift is firm and everything feels good.
