After sitting a couple years due to clutch problems, I finally had a chance this winter to pull my father in law"s 801 into the garage and give a good going over. Got the clutch fixed and went though the hydraulics, no problem. I rebuilt the carb and put new plugs in it and it started right up. It seems to idle fine but as soon as I touch the throttle just a little, the engine races to what sounds like about 4 times as fast as I"ve ever heard a Ford run. Any idea what might be causing this? It is a 736 carb. I read on another post that it could be possible to install the throttle shaft upside down and it would cause this. I double checked and everything is put together correctly. Any ideas? Thanks
