The tractor originally had a fixed length rod on left side and leveling box rod on the right side. Sounds like the left side was replaced with something that can be adjusted so, sure, turn it out and see if you can get it low enough. Usually these replacement rods are threaded on both ends so you can adjust them without disconnecting by turning the middle section like an adjustable top link, but sounds like yours is not. Any farm or tractor shop usually sells the fully adjustable type lift rods, I put one on the left side of my 801. -Will
