Here is a photo of a factory 6V from my '63 4000 gasoline tractor
You'll notice the only differences in appearance between it and the following factory 12V on my '64 4000 diesel is that it has a narrow band around its circumference near the back end and the diesel does not. The 12V diesel does have a cooling fan and one cooling slot on the bottom as Tony suggests. The 6V gasoline does not.
