In order to check an engine that is supposed to be in good condition, I take along a compression tester and a vacuum gauge. Neither costs much and will tell you a lot about the motor condition and what you may be looking at spending to bring it up to good condition. also see what the oil pressure is once it is up to operating temperature. 40lbs would be good. I like row crop models myself, and if it were actually a high crop it is worth probably $500 - $800 more than the standard row crop in equivalent condition
