'57 900 D 172 cu in fuel return leak

Thanks for the help in putting me on to the cause of my D fuel getting into the oil pan. Once I got the valve cover off, I found three of the return line fittings are leaking. I can not get them tight enough to stop. I do have a couple more questions. There is only one sealing washer on the top side of the fitting. Should there be one on the bottom as well? Second item, the T fitting down into the head is not flair, nor does it have a comprasion ring. How is it supposed to seal? I've gotten good advise on this so far. Keep it coming, Thanks,
