Yes, marlowe is correct. On my brush hog, I sharpen my blades every year so I take off the stump jumper and sharpen the blades on it (removeing one nut instead of two is easier I think). I remove the nut on the shaft and give it a little shake and it falls off. before I replace it I grease the shaft so it will be easy to remove next year. I have a freind that had the same problem as you awile back and we had to do the very same thing that marlowe expained.
