If you have adequate lifting gear or if you are quite strong you will be able to remove the complete axle trumpet from the transmission housing. It is more awkward than real heavy.You may have a worn housing where the pin fits as it must have been dripping oil for some time? Or did it snap? You will need to put some sort of sealer around the new pin and really tighten it up before fitting the cotter pin. Also ensure your new paper gasket is the same thickness as the old one or you may have to adjust the shims for end float....... Sam
