I collected Hitt & Miss engines for years. I had a couple that had some radical fix it repairs that were done many years ago. I wouldn't restore those because -to me they tell a story of American ingenuity (called to day "get-er-dun"),this is part of the history we need to preserve. I have a 1934 cement mixer here is a U TUBE link -there are more videos of it running. We have been using it a lot the last 3 years. I just keep it running (not well enough to do the labor :-) Any way it is just as I got it 30 years ago -it was still in use by an oldtimer .Sometime in its life the cyl head was changed with a head from a later model (by the same manufacturer) engine. Now it has 2 spark plugs because of a style change. I will not look for the corret head as this is part of its history. I believe we are saving history.I clean it and show ,or use it just as it is. Some stuff I think restoring is good for -some not. My two bits.
