I suspect you'll get an an answer from more technically minded people. But from a user perspective I see no more wear or adjustment on the hydraulics from a position control device (Zang Thang or the above pictured one) than using the draft control while plowing. Maybe it causes more wear than having the hydraulics and PTO disengaged entirely, but I think they were made to plow all day, day after day.
At least that's my justification. I followed the directions from the FENA site. A wonderful addition to my TO30.
