Sure Seals work just fine. Short fiber wheel bearing grease. As used in Drum Brakes. Proper axle end play is with the tractor jacked up, spin one wheel forward, the other will spin the other way. If the seal is not beveled on the leading edge, a file will put a nice chamfer on it for easier installation. 3' section of 3" ABS pipe can also make a nice installation tool. That is most the info you might need.
