This picture may help you. The new pin is splined at one end to lock in the housing. You will need a flat ended punch to drift the old pin out. Sometimes the new pin can be used to drive out the old pin, but if yours is broken it may take a bit of jiggling about to get the holes lined up. Check also that the cup is tight in the housing, this is held tight by a locknut/collar that has to be tightened with a 'C' wrench. Sam
