Have you had the rocker assembly loose? Not sure on the standards but a lot of engines that have shaft mount rockers the oil supply hole is only on one side of the shaft. If it was to get turned to where the hole is on top you wouldn"t get any oil. Also FE Ford engines used shaft mount rockers but the bolt where the oil supply is, was a special bolt. It looked like all the others in the assembly but it was turned down all the way to the bolt head to allow the oil to flow around it into the rocker shaft. I have seen several engines destroyed by people either putting the bolt in the wrong location or using a regular bolt in its place. That may be something to look at also.
