Hey, I just thought I'd share how I ended up with a Ferguson. We were fortunate enough to get a place with 3.5 acres here in Darlington MD. The place was really rough, but we're getting there. It was time to get a tractor. My son saw this tractor on the side of the road for sale, $3000 is what they wanted. We drove by and it looked like a rust bucket, but we made a time with the gentleman to take a look at it in person, up close. Hey, up close it didn't look to bad. New tires, redone brakes, new radiator, new battery, and it started right up(it was stone cold, so it hadn't been run before we met him). A huge block of concrete cast to fit the 3pt hitch was mounted on it and it had a set of chain on the rear tires. It came with a Wagner Loader, 2 buckets and 2 sets of forks. We offered him $2500 and he jumped at, CRAP, I should have offered less. Anyway, it has its problems as can be seen in earlier posts but I'm glad we have it. The bucket cylinder is weeping/leaking, it needs to be repacked. Hopefully we'll get around to putting some paint on it and fixing a few annoyances. Here's a pic of the beast.

Some purist I'm sure will disagree to no end with what I will tell you but most of us out here in the real world don't really care do we ? Some of them only bring their noses down out of the air long enough to look down them anyway. If you are like me you are only doing this old tractor stuff because you enjoy it. You
