Audience and Cody, First, this is buyer/seller feedback and what I was hoping to gain by this is Cody (and everyone else who wants to expand their customer base through internet sales) represents his product fully and stands good on his word.
That being said, I forgot to give Cody one other compliment in my post, he helped load the tractor when the trucker got there. From what I am told not everyone does this and I commend you as such; good work and thank you.
I do not have any experience posting on public forums so what is used as a screen name is confusing to me. All I know is the first three names I tried did not work and this one did. I feel that Cody posting his name and number means very little as far as credibility. He is the seller here and it"s his job to deliver on what he puts his name and reputation on. I am the buyer, as far as that goes all I need to do is send prompt and correct payment; Cody would agree that this is a non-issue.
Cody said to send it back because he had a lot of calls on it and people telling him it was too cheap (as he had listed it). From what I"ve read about Cody on other posts here, he will usually accept return on an item, and I"m not saying that he should have to pay for the shipping, but that still costs real dollars. Most sellers in this the car/tractor/general collector world would work with a guy when what terms and conditions something is bought/sold under is not what is delivered. I would love to get the $4500 plus the $1250 I ended up paying for shipping (one way) out of the tractor if anyone out there thinks this is still a great deal. I will eat the cost of the repair man"s bill and chalk this up as a learning experience.
I was adamant in my first post that Cody was not purposely lying or being deceitful by sending me a tractor that was stuck and had the wrong parts to go with it. I feel that these issues were sincerely overlooked since being a tractor jockey and puller, one would know the difference between 560 parts and 1206 parts. I"m giving credit for not purposely sending the tractor this way; the opposite, and knowingly sending it this way would be worse. For faith in the people of this hobby/business I do not want to believe the latter is the case. That being said, we both know there is no basis for anyone else having trouble with me. Keep it to the facts. For Cody"s sake and as a gesture of good will in hopes of ceased unfounded personal attacks, I am not going to bring up the details about why there was a bid rescinded, but if it keeps up I will. I have written a check to only one other person on this site and his advice was not to get into arguments with people who lie on a public forum because, "they lie, and they are going to be better at convincing others than you are".
Again, I am sorry it has come to this and want everyone to enjoy this hobby as much as I did. I agree that looking at tractors in person is the way to go, but if we can maintain credibility on these sites, we can all enjoy a little bit further reach. It is always best to ask many questions to cover your bases, if the seller cannot answer, you must take that as it is. This does not necessarily mean someone is lying about their product, the seller may not know the answer. There will always be risk in this business, but all we have is our word. We are all looking for that diamond in the rough and there are still a few to be found out there. We take these battles one at a time and sometimes we get lucky and sometimes we get burned. Like I said, anyone looking to buy this tractor can take it at a loss from me and I will go on with my life. Thank you.
