Your lights are fused with a 10A glass tube style fuse next to the push/pull ignition switch below the amp gauge, turn the cover 1/4 turn and it pops out with the fuse. Buy a box of five replacements at an auto parts store.
You should run a ballast resistor in the wire that runs from the ignition switch to the coil, a part from a '60's vintage Chrysler works well.
You don't say how old your ignition condenser is/was, but it sure sounds like that's your problem. All the new condensers are made off-shore and they're quality stinks. They used to easily last 250-400 hours of run time, now you're lucky to get 100-150 hrs.
