There are two gaskets for the tower also, one at the top that the steering shaft housing bolts to, one below that where the tower attaches to the reservoir. I used the red anaerobic sealer available at Case IH on these two gaskets and no seepage at all.
A parts diagram will show you what orings go where,
(there are a bunch of them) be sure to have your parts man give you an estimate sheet, this will give you the original part number and what new part number replaced it.
The numbers have changed several times over the years, that way you can use your parts book to see which orings go where.
I gently used a mill file on each flat surface to ensure there would be no gaps caused by old paint or rust, and used emery cloth to clean each oring mounting surface of any debris. When I assembled them I used a small amount of wheel bearing grease to hold the orings in place during assembly.
