Have the head checked for flatness, file the burrs off of the piston, check the block for flatness and reassemble. We had a tick in a v6 401 truck engine in a uni-system many years ago. Shut it down and found that something fell in when the spark plugs were changed. Pulled the plug and fished the metal out with a magnet and went back to using it. We ran it for years and you couldn"t tell it happened. I would do the other things just because the head is off, unless it was burning oil before It will run just fine.
