My 400 pulls a 7 ft BUSHHOG in 3rd and 4th gear clipping pasture with ease. Got to slow down if you want to mow tall fescue short in one pass. Keep in mine though, the old 400 has an M&W crank, rods, and pistons, and is making about 70 hp. But, it is not working hard, so a stock tractor should do the same, only not quite a quickly.
