Random thoughts here, haven't driven a SC since 1965. IIRC, just the way my arm naturally twisted, I grabbed the shifter low on the knob with thumb & pointer finger at bottom, pinkie toward the top. Just like some people grab the shifter on car or p-up with hand on top, fingers curved down, others with hand under, fingers curved up. Also looking at Mark's photo, it seems that the quadrant maybe should be rotated forward a bit. Rear edge in line with other hyd lever, front & rear angles of quadrant equal instead of one verticle & other at a greater angle. I have been wrong before & will be wrong many times in the future.
