It sounds like you have front wheels with demountable rims. These rims were cadium plated or galvanized. A dull silver or argent silver rally wheel paint is a good substitute. If your rear wheels have demountable rims also, the rims should be silver also. If the rears are 1 piece round spoke wheels, they should be all red. You may think this will look silly with the front rims painted silver and the rears all red, but it is correct. I have seen people paint demoutable rims all red and have seen them paint round spokes with silver rims. My F-30 has demountable rims on the front and round spokes on the rear and I may paint the rear rims silver because it will look better, even though it's not correct.
