I don't know about the manual but your ammeter may be wired backwards, all depends on how you look at it. Also, normally IH had +ve ground but alot of people changed that because they got confused with cars where -ve ground is more standard. I would keep the +ve grd that way when you do get the manual it will make sense. One last thing, I suspect you want to know if the battery is really discharging? Easy way is to check voltage after you have used it for a while if its less than 5V your likely discharging and the ammeter wiring is correct. If the voltage is 6v or a little more the ammeter is wired wrong, its really charging. I hope this helps.
