You don't have to take the pto apart to get the linkage apart. The spool comes out the bottom plug after removing the top link and nut etc. To get the rear plate off the pto, you start on the front side and take the pump, clutch discs and drum off first. Requires compressing springs with special or made up tools to get snap rings off.
