Just aquired a tractor too. When opening up the carb for first time I bought no gaskets or kit. When it was reassembled I used plumbing graphite packing string. three wraps did the trick. Since then A kit was purchesed and I found the same thing as you. I wrapped another length of plumber packing and again ok. Good luck. P.s. my wife does not know of my unit yet and there is not security for name use so dont e-mail back, but do try this trick. Chris
