I brought a 1955 Farmall 400 home last fall and hadn't really touched it yet. It ran well, but did leak fuel out of the carb when the tractor was shut off. I knocked the carb off last night to give it some TLC and this is what I found in the bowl. I'm not sure what it is, but it's of a thick consistency and relatively gummy. I found it no where else in the carb. I figured for sure there would be more at the needle or seat since it would have had to pass through there to get to the bowl, but found nothing. I tossed the carb body and guts in some Hydro-Seal II and it came out shining like new. I then rebuilt it this morning and the old girl runs like a champ, but what's the green stuff. Hmmmmmm...
