Tony, Most 450 lp heads wont allow enough clearance above fire crater piston step if that is what you are using. LP 450 engines were flat top pistons and the combustion chamber was totaly different. Set your head down on the block without head gasket and roll engine over by hand and see if it lifts the head up of deck when you bring piston to top dead center. Plus if it does clear and providing the head has not been chopped your compression will be 15 to 1 or greater and you wont be able to shut it down once you build heat in the engine. Plus the gas that we have today even if your run racing fuel will preignite to fast with the extra compression and destroy you setup. We have tried this very setup and it was a nightmare to get started plus was did not live long as our compression was in the 16.5 to 1 plus.
