Hi gene bender: I would like to ask you: What do you call "built in 1947?" Are you talking regular Production or "test" models? If your saying regular production, how do you know. Not trying to degrade your comments, just wondering because I see and read this every once in a while. So clue me in as to what the IHC factory did. WE got the 6th Farmall MD sent out to dealers but there were engineer test units built befor our regular production sent to dealer. Our history on the 6th MD is the type info I am wondering about on your 1947 Farmall C. Not that this changes the fact that it is still a nice tractor. I would think that WW-2 influanced production to fealers because for 3 or 4 years after the war, the home economy boomed. Production to consumers was red-hot. Take care. ag..
