Ok, so I think I screwed something up tonight. I changed the points on my 41 B because it had a slight miss. I could not start it afterwards. Took off the wire cap (distributor cap if it had a distributor) and went in to re-check the gap. After seeing the gap was not the problem I decided to look into the oiling hole for the gears that are between the cap and the points. Seeing it was jambed with dried grease I decided to clean it out.
I put the gears back together with the notched tooth on the smaller gear lined up between the L and R stamping on the larger gear (is this correct???? It was the only logical thing I could think of). Still no luck starting it.
I went to check the spark by pulling the "supply" wire from the cap and holding it by a spark plug. No spark!!! What could I have screwed up by changing the points?????
Sorry for any typos, I have been dealing with a split open finger on my right hand. Makes it hard to hit the right keys.
