F regulator to F on generator A or G on regulator to A on generator BAT on regulator to ammeter L on regulator (if used) to light and ignition switches
To test generator/ regulator:
If you have a volt meter, check battery voltage with engine off. Start engine and bettery voltage should increase at least 10%. if not
With engine running, ground F on generator. If charge increases suspect defective regulator section in the regulator or associated wiring/grounds.
If still no increase, leave F grounded and jumper A on generator to BAT on regulator. If charge increases suspect cut out side of regulator. If still no increase in charge suspect generator/wiring/loose belt.
Charging circuit will wire the same on 6 or 12 volt.
Ignition circuit with 12 volt will require an additional resistor in the wire between switch and coil or a "12 volt No External Resistor Required" coil
