remove valve cover.remove #1 spark plug. firing order is 1342. get #1cyl. at tdc on comp. stroke. put finger over plug hole and turn over when you feel air pushing on finger your coming up on compression. running mate to #1 cyl. is #4 cyl. get valves on #4 cyl.on the rock.do this by watching rockers on #4 . when you see 1 valve close and the other one start to open thats when you adjust both valves on #1cyl.next to fire is #3 cyl.so you get #2cyl.valves on the rock and adjust #3 cyl. valves. next is #4 so watch #1cyl.valves on the rock and adjust #4cyl.valves. last is #2 so watch #3 cyl.and get the vaves on the rock and adjust #2 cyl. all valves are set with one rotation of crankshaft. thats why it is good to turn engine over with a hand crank. i think the spec is .017 hot.
