The venturi is supposed to just lift outm but due to dirt and crud building up around it, they quite often DO become very stuck. Soaking the entire carburetor in GOOD cleaner (not Berrryman's) overnight will usually loosen up that crud. If that doesn't work, you can use a small propane torch to heat the area around the venturi, and then spray that area with penetrating oil while it cools down, and then just walk away from it long enough for it to cool completely, after which you should be able to slowly get it to move by gently trying to turn it with a pair of small channel locks. Those pot metal venturis are very fragile and WILL NOT stand up to any kind of abuse.
