Had another look at the M-AM today, you might be onto something. The casting codes are all B, which would equate with it being a 1948 model if the theory is correct. Another thing I noticed was the sump is of cast iron construction, as distinct from the pressed metal used on any of the American, Kerosene burning tractors I've seen. Has an Aus. sourced, Lucas headlight which I suppose couldn't be taken as concrete evidence, similiar to the situation with the Delco starter. Serial No. tag has no identifying country of origin printed on it. Now for the ever present confusion, I checked the 564 which my old man bought new in January 1969, and it's casting codes are N, which equate to 1962. More head scratching to be done.Regards, Redfan.
