First off, you have about 40 gals of hy tran in that machine, the dip stick is difficult to get a good consistant reading on so I would start there. Check after it has been shut off for several minututes. Forty degrees should not be a problem if filters and fluid is full and clean. Your main clutch may be somewhat difficult to release, there fore grinding of gears due to all the lube oil that is thrown on the clutch during release. Lube valve had a change made on that to relieve that problem. You need to observe the sentry lamp and become acquainted how it works under normal conditions. If it is working normal and you have a no drive I would not attempt to drive it until it is warmed up enough to go. If sentry lamp is showing a problem you won't hurt it as it just won't drive. If power steering etc works it would be safe to just let it run for a while to warm the oil.
