hey bob, i think your headed down the wrong road with the fuel filter idea. lots of folks have problem with that set up including myself. seems on that gravity fuel system a in line filter just seems to starve the carb. for enough fuel and the lower the fuel gets in the tank the worse it gets. mine came that way and i pulled it and put it back to original with new line and s/o with sediment bowl. as andy asked where is the actual leak ?? at the bowl gasket or the tank thread ?
