my wife took her ring off about two weeks after we got married and wrapped it in some paper towel and left it on the counter--I picked up the paper towel and then threw it away , took the garbage out and BURNED it in the burning barrel in the back yard---after an lllloooonnngg search of our home I realized what happened and dug around in the barrel and found it -- black but other wise undamaged
