There are a lot of magneto fans on this forum but I am not one of them. After almost 60 years experience (kids went to work young back in my day) with letter series tractors with both magnetoes and distributors I will take distributor for simplicity, cost of repair and dependability. Back when we were farming with Hs and Ms they usualy ran from 16 to 24 hours a day 6 days a week in tillage seasons and we had better service with distributors. Some say magneto is great because you can start tractor with dead battery but I swore off of hand cranking tractors many years ago. If it were mine I would lose the magneto and install distributor and cost will probaly be less than buying or rebuilding magneto. Just one more opinion.
