Farmall M LP tractor

First does anyone know how many M lp"s they made? My serial # is 33974 which is shown as a 1941, but it has the later style PTO(not the stubby shaft) and it has the later front wheels. I live in PA and I"ve never seen one around here, are they rare? I paid $450 for this today, I"m sure I made a good buy on it. Also I want to make this my pulling tractor, This is a good start right? Thanks for any help
