I haven't worked on a M before, but I think the steering is about the same as a H. If you unhook the steering shaft from the u-joint in the middle, the shaft & worm gear will un-screw togather through the front of the steering gear box. Loosen the rear shaft at the steering wheel (two collers with set screws) and slide the rear shaft & u-joint to the rear. Then turn the front shaft clockwise and the shaft should screw out the front of the gearbox. Be careful of the shaft seal in the back of the steering gear, if it's still a good one. ken
